Former junior middleweight champion Kassim Ouma (25-3, 15KOs) plans to punish Contender star Sergio Mora (19-0, 4KOs) when the two fighters meet in a middleweight contest on the undercard to Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Rocky Juarez on Sept. 15 in Las Vegas.

Ouma told Ugandan media outlet New Vision that he plans to intensify his training to be in top form on the night of the fight. He says that his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy, told him that a possible title shot could be at stake. Golden Boy is hoping to match Ouma against IBF junior middleweight champion Vernon Forrest in the near future. Ouma says that he is forced to fight at middleweight because nobody at 154 wants to fight him.

“I will be moving back to Florida at the end of the week to up the tempo in the gym," Ouma said. "I talked to my promoter Oscar De La Hoya and he told me that nobody wants to fight with me. However, he said he will get me a title shot soon. My focus right now is to win against Mora. He is a good fighter and top contender. I don’t want to underrate him, but I’m going to rock his world and he should be ready for it.”
