Nicaraguan boxer Daniel Diaz said that there has been no communication from promoter Don King Productions in over two years. However, King's lawyer, Tony Gonzalez, sent a letter to Kameda Promotions in Japan, attempting to prevent the Diaz's fight on May 7 against WBA bantamweight champion Koki Kameda.
This interference surprised Diaz, because he was represented by Don King Productions from July 2007 through July 2010, but there has been no word from them in two years.
"The truth is, I don't not know what happened with these people from Don King's office. They didn't keep me active after I signed with them. Now that a big fight comes to me, they want to stop this fight in bad faith, "said Diaz. "But this contract is already over. My old attorney Mario Garcia signed it in 2007, and it lasted three years, and expired in July 2010. I have nothing to do with them."
