It's been a few weeks and Junior Witter is starting to feel a bit humbled after dropping a split-decision, and the WBC 140-pound title, to Timothy Bradley. The hometown advantage in Nottingham was not enough to pull Witter through. He was simply outhustled by a younger fighter.

While he doesn't admit to overlooking Bradley and looking ahead to a showdown with Ricky Hatton, he does admit to executing the wrong gameplan in the ring. He also shows regret for not insisting on a rematch clause in the contract.

"The reality is that I performed at 70 per cent of my capability and Bradley fought the fight of his career. He took his chance and scored the knockdown which turned the fight around," Witter told the Sheffield Star. "I have been asked if there was a rematch clause and if I was looking past Bradley and focusing on Ricky Hatton and did I underestimate him? I had the choice of adding a rematch clause but I've never believed in giving myself a safety net, so there was no clause."

Witter promoter is trying to negotiate a rematch. If he can't get an immediate rematch with Bradley, he plans to work his way back to the title.

"My promoter is working on a return fight with Bradley. If this doesn't happen I will fight my way back in to contention. I prepared 100 per cent for the fight. Unfortunately, I got it wrong on the night," Witter said.
