The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame has revealed the inductees for its class of 2025, who will be celebrated on the weekend of September 26-28.
The retired fighters Julian Jackson, Steve Collins and Junior Jones lead the roll call, and are complemented in the fighters’ category by Charles Brewer, Patrick Majewski, Curtis Parker and Charles Murray.
The late Bert Cooper, Rocky Lockridge and Teddy Mann will also be inducted in the posthumous category, as will the trainer Cash White.
The observers and special contributors include the trainer Tommy Brooks, the commentator and fighter Sean O’Grady, the referee Joe Cortez, the matchmaker Nick Tiberi Snr, the matchmaker and manager Jolene Mizzone, the casino executive Bernie Dillon, and Jeff Jowett, of the media.
Finally, the one-time fighter Young Gene Buffalo and the manager Bob Botto will be inducted as pioneers.
Among the world’s most historic fight cities, Atlantic City has become a largely neglected fight venue since the eras of Arturo Gatti and Kelly Pavlik.
However the celebrated Boardwalk Hall will host, on April 12, the IBF and WBA welterweight title fight between Jaron “Boots” Ennis and Lithuania’s Eimantas Stanionis.
