Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton is a ripped and ready 122 pounds and ready to blow away Maria Elena Villalobos who came in at 121.6 pounds in their battle for the vacant WBO female super bantamweight title at Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada Thursday morning Manila Time.
The 29 year old Julaton who has a record of 6-2-1 with 1 knockout is coming off a ten round unanimous decision loss to the far more experienced southpaw Lisa Brown (16-4-3, 5 KO’s) in their clash for the vacant WBA female title on March 27 this year.
However, prior to that loss Julaton won the vacant IBA title with a majority ten round decision over Kelsey Jeffries (41-9-1, 4 KO’s) on September 12, 2009 which was a solid achievement for the popular Daly City based Julaton.
Julaton earlier won a ten round unanimous decision over Donna “Nature Girl” Biggers (19-8-1, 16 KO’s) on December 4, 2009.
“Mary” Villalobos sports a record of 6-3 with 3 knockouts. The Mexican lost her last fight by a unanimous decision in a WBC female title fight against Marcela Eliana “La Tigreso” Acuna (33-5, 16 KO’s) of Argentina.
Julaton who trains at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles is expected to benefit from her training there as well as having the celebrated trainer in her corner.
Irma “Guerita” Sanchez is concentrating on her WBC silver flyweight championship fight against Britain’s Suzannah “Destiny” Warner in Guadalajara, Mexico on July 10.
The title fight between the Mexican and British women was confirmed with co-star billing on HG Boxing in the VGF Arena of Guadalajara which will be ready to accommodate some 12 000 fans.
The “Guerita” who was recently was named “Fighter of the Year” by the North American Boxing Federation will be seeking the sixth belt in her career.
The 22 year old has a record of 17-3-1 with 5 knockouts while the 39 year old Warner has a record of 9-9-1 with 2 knockouts.
Suzannah, a resident of New York, has battled some of the best in her weight since 2005 even though her record isn’t that impressive.
Irma Ochoa Sanchez returns to the ring after her victory over Thailand Kanittha Tungsongtaksin last February. She dropped an eight round decision to Mariana Juarez on June 5, 2009 and then went on to win four fights in a row.
The Mexican girl is expected to battle with renewed vigor and must win because her next fight would be with Japanesse Naomi Togashi, the current WBC champion at 108 pounds.
Warner lost a ten round split decision to Ji Hyun Park in an IBFA minimum weight title fight in Korea on February 6, 2010 .
