Hamburg, Germany - Super middleweight Juergen Braehmer, now 50-3, scored an easy win tonight at the Hamburger Sporthalle as he stopped Argentinean veteran Pablo Daniel Zamora Nieves, 33-17-1.
Braehmer, with Michael Timm in the corner, came out fast, found the range with his jab and southpaw left and worked Nieves over.
Nieves was brave and durable but was outclassed and as the former WBA, WBO and EBU light heavy champ, now 40 years old, upped the pace the difference in class became more and more evident.
In the fifth Braehmer poured it on for real in an impressive display of punches and Nieves´ corner waved the towel at 2.18 in what was a sensible stoppage.
Next up for Braehmer should be against EBU 168 lb champ Robin Krasniqi - a man Juergen stopped when they were both light heavies.
