WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams (33-0, 24KOs) is hunting for a new dance partner for Feb. 2 on HBO. Williams was hoping to move forward with a unification bout against IBF chmap Kermit Cintron, but that fight was shelved after Cintron injured his right hand in a tuneup win against Jesse Feliciano on November 23. Cintron's doctor told him to stay away from the ring until March.

Promoter Dan Goossen, according to a conversation with Primera Hora , offered the Williams fight to former two-division champion Zab Judah and ranked contender Carlos Quintana. Judah is not expected to take the fight and Quintana has yet to give a final answer. Last week is was reported that negotiations were ongoing to set a fight between Judah and Quintana for early 2008.

Goossen told the paper that he wants the big fights Williams, but the big names want no part of Williams.

"We are interested in the big names of the division like Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto and Shane Mosley.  At some point, Cotto and Williams will have to fight to determine who's the best at 147-pounds", Goossen said.
