BoxingScene.com spoke to former two division champion Zab Judah (42-7, 29KOs) shortly after Danny Garcia's stirring knockout victory over Amir Khan. Judah has been inactive since his knockout victory over Vernon Paris that awarded him the number position in the IBF's junior welterweight rankings.
The IBF is expected to make a decision soon on whether they will allow Lamont Peterson to retain his title. Peterson admitted to using "testosterone pellets" prior to his December 2011 fight against Amir Khan in which he won the title.
Judah told BoxingScene that Khan was outboxing Garcia (24-0, 15KOs) and that he simply got caught and gave Garcia a lot of credit for landing the punch that changed the landscape of the fight. He also said that prior to the fight he had said that he wanted to fight the winner.
"Before the fight I said I wanted to fight the winner of tonight's fight. Judah and Garcia would be a perfect fight in Atlantic City. It would be Philadelphia versus New York," Judah concluded.
Judah finished our conversation by saying that with the team he has in place now we can expect to see more performances like his previous fight versus Paris, and not some of his other performances such as his knockout loss to Khan.
"You will see that Zab from here on out. It's just the way I'm training and the team I have with me. That is the Zab you will see for the rest of my career," Judah stated.
