Mexico's Mariana "Barby" Juárez won the World Boxing Council (WBC) international championship by beating Mexico's Irma "Torbellino" García in a majority decision at the Oasis Arena Cancun.

In the end, judges Santiago Basto and Humberto Manjarrez scored 95-94 in favor of Mariana, Jorge Flores also saw her as the winner with a score of 96-93, while Jose Manzur scored a 95-95 draw.

Former world champion Carlos "King" Molina (28-6-2, 8 KO's) maintained his firm step towards a new world crown, with a decision win over Diego "Demoledor" Cross (17-4-1, 13 KO's ). Molina extended his streak to 6 wins. The three judges, Oscar Calderón, Luis Bustamante and Gamaliel Acorra scored it 80-72 in the welterweight contest.

It was only 2 minutes with 13 seconds needed for Joselito Velazquez to score his first professional victory, after a shot to the liver to knock Eduardo "Chiquilín" Casimero (5-4-0, 0 KO) out.

Iván "Macanón" Cano (24-8-2, 15 KO's) scored a split decision victory over Tabasco's "Mario" Zurdo "Sánchez (25-14-1, 5 KO's) over 8 rounds.

Cristian "Demente" Palancares (12-4-1, 7 KO's) got up from the canvas to knock out Sergio "Yeyo" Thompson (30-5-0, 23 KO's) as they passed 2 minutes and 48 seconds of the third round.

Moments earlier, "Yeyo" had connected with a right on the chin to send Palancares to the canvas; Nevertheless, he got up to surprise with a hook to the abdomen that doubled Thompson over. Referee José Pacheco decided that "Yeyo" could not continue.
