According to reporter Carlos Gonzalez, the anticipated featherweight match between WBO champion Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez and challenger Rafael Marquez is going to end up on one of two dates on the Showtime network. The dates of October 23 and October 30 are being explored. The fight was previously scheduled for September 18 in Las Vegas. Marquez suffered a thumb injury and the fight had to be postponed. Juama tells Gonzalez he hopes the date is finalized by the weekend so he can resume training camp.
"I hope they give me the date by the weekend. I stopped training completely, but I plan to start running again next Monday," Lopez said.
