Former two division champion Juan Manuel Lopez (30-1, 27KOs), who returns on October 1 in Puerto Rico against Mike Oliver, is open to the idea of facing Nonito Donaire (26-1, 18KOs) in 2012. Donaire, the WBO/WBC bantamweight champion, is moving up to 122 after a fight against Omar Narvaez in October, but a move to 126 may happen very quickly as well. Juanma likes the idea of facing him, however, there are several opponents that Juanma can face before a meeting with Donaire.
"Donaire is a very interesting fighter than any boxer would like to fight. I am willing to fight him if that's what my promoter [Top Rank] wants," he said. [Donaire] is close to my height and that would be an interesting fight. But my focus right now is on regaining my title and to avenge my loss to [Orlando] Salido. And my promoter knows that. There are many other alternatives including [Yuriorkis] Gamboa. I can also fight with Jhonny Gonzalez, Chris John, Salido, Gamboa and even a rematch with Rafael Marquez. But first we must get past Mike Oliver."
