WBO super bantamweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez is laughing off Sergio Medina's promise to knock him out. Juanma defends his title against Medina on the Oscar De La Hoya-Manny Pacquiao undercard on December 6 in Las Vegas. Lopez says that his opponent is acting out due to fear.

"I believe that he is acting out. He has fear. He said a lot of things that are not true. He said that he doesn't know me and only saw one fight of mine, against Cesar Figueroa. He had an offer to fight me that day and he didn't want to fight," Lopez told El Nuevo Dia. "Now he accepts the fight, but after putting up a lot of hurdles.

"He said that Figueroa only fought me for the money, but Medina didn't want to fight and later he was asking for a lot of money. If according to him I'm not dangerous, than why did he put up so many hurdles. He is contradicting himself because he is acting. Words don't impress me. I don't think this fight will end as early as my other fights, but I didn't think those fight would end fast either. I have all of the necessary tools to win by knockout."

Lopez got a surprise visit at his training camp in Puerto Rico when trainer Felix Trinidad Sr. strolled in. Felix Sr. and his famous son, Felix "Tito" Trinidad, think very highly of Lopez and see him, not Miguel Cotto, as the future of boxing in Puerto Rico.

"Juanma is humble, charismatic, and very social boy. Puerto Rico is already behind him," Trinidad Sr. said.
