WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez is not siding with his Mexican countryman on this one. He gives Manny Pacquiao the edge to beat Antonio Margarito on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. During a recent appearance on ESPN Deportes Golpe a Golpe, Marquez saw his career rival, Pacquiao, as the winner based on the Filipino's much faster hands.
“His speed will be the difference against Margarito,” Marquez was quoted as saying by Ricardo Lois of The Examiner.
Marquez would later give pointers to Margarito on how to beat Pacquiao, telling the "Tijuana Tornado" to use his longer reach and not to throw one punch at a time.
“Margarito must keep his distance,” said Marquez, “and when he attacks, fire off combinations of three or more punches.”
