Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez, 41-years-old, is still considering the possibility of a ring return. Marquez has been inactive since a May 2014 twelve round decision win over Mike Alvarado. Marquez has been bothered by a lingering knee injury that first began prior to his fight with Alvarado. Marquez, if the knee recovers, would like to continue fighting by pursuing a fifth divisional title at welterweight.

"I do not know if I'm going to retire or not. I have to see how I feel. The first thing [that's important] is my physical state, my health, my feelings, and after that we'll see how the knee is doing. I'm in therapy, rehabilitation, but I'm training and I suddenly [make a certain move] and it hurts, but I do not lose hope that the knee will be restored to normal and we'll look at our future from a different perspective," said Marquez to ESPN Deportes.
