The WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez is allegedly is in the process of divorcing his wife Barbara De Jesus, whom he married seven months ago after having been partners for several years. The information was disclosed to several outlets by his co-promoter Peter Rivera, Vice President of PR Best Boxing.
Lopez and De Jesus had their differences last year, and those differences were made public on a televised program (Dando Candela) in Puerto Rico. Since November, Lopez has been on the move as he went with Rivera to the United States and the Philippines where he attended the birthday of Manny Pacquiao. He stayed away from the press for several weeks before surfacing to announce his upcoming defense against Orlando Salido on April 16 in Puerto Rico.
Both Lopez and his manager Orlando Piñero did not return calls to comment on the news disclosed by Rivera.
