At the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico, WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (28-0, 26KOs) stopped Bernabe Concepcion (30-3-1, 17KOs) in the second round.

Lopez staggered Concepcion in the opening minute. Concepcion tried to exchange shots but Juanma unloaded some counters to send the Filipino fighter down. He beat the count, but Juanma began to punish him against in the ropes. In the final five seconds, Concepcion landed a hard counter left hand bomb to send Juanma down as the entire crowd was shocked at what they were watching. Lopez beat the count and the round came to close.

At the start of the second round, Lopez landed a hard straight right to send Concepcion down for the second time in the contest. Near the end of the round, Lopez put his punches together and sent Concepcion crashing down for the third time. He tried to get up to his feet but he was barely able to stand. The referee stopped the contest.
