Peter Rivera, vice president of PR Best Boxing Promotions, said he is considering three potential opponents for former two-division world champion Juan Manuel Lopez, who reappears on February 2nd at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum, Bayamon. The frontrunner appears to be a Brazilian fighter. Rivera is waiting for the contracts to be signed before disclosing the name.
"We are working on the issue of the opponent, and waiting to sign the contract. The opponent is likely going to be from Brazil but we are waiting for everything to be signed. We also have under consideration a Mexican opponent and a Mexican-American. One of those three will be the opponent," he said.
