Former two-division champion Juan Manuel Lopez (32-2, 29KOs) is looking to return to the ring this spring, possibly on the undercard of the Nonito Donaire-Guillermo Rigondeaux unification clash on April 13th at Radio City Music Hall.
After the tune-up fight he hopes to get a shot at a world title. The Puerto Rican feels that if he captures a world title, a showdown against Yuriorkis Gamboa can become a mega-fight again.
"I think it depends on me (whether the fight will become possible). If I can become a world champion again then I think the fight can happen but I've heard he might go to 140 to fight Tim Bradley," Lopez stated.
Juanma has recently appeared on recent episodes of UniMas' boxing series, Solo Boxeo. He said that he is grateful for the opportunity and would like to do more commentary when he hangs up his gloves. Juanma suffered his two career losses over the span of his last four fights and said that he is re-dedicated to the sport.
"That is definitely something we are interested in. We are getting the opportunity from Solo Boxeo. I am also manager of three fighters too so I have a lot of stuff going on."
"It is a little different now. I appreciate it more and I am more dedicated. Before (the losses to Orlando Salido) I thought I was invincible," Lopez told BoxingScene.com
