The WBA began consolidating their total number of champions earlier this year by ordering several fights between their "super", "regular" and interim champions.  One of the bouts that was ordered was between their super and regular flyweight champions. 

Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada (33-2, 24KOs) holds their "super" belt along with the WBO flyweight title and Kazuto Ioka (20-1, 12KOs) holds the "regular" version.

Estrada has been out of the ring since his September, 2015 knockout victory over Hernan "Tyson" Marquez.  He injured his right hand which required surgery and has kept him on the sideline ever since.

BoxingScene.com caught up with the 26-year-old Mexican who said that his hand is good to go and he is ready to return to the ring.

"Yes (my hand) is good.  I'm already sparring and I'm prepared to fight at the end of October against Ioka I think," Estrada stated.

Estrada is in Los Angeles to watch the battle between his compatriot WBC super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras and Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez who he lost a competitive decision to in 2012.  Chocolatito is attempting to become the first Nicaraguan to win world titles in four different weight classes.

"That is why we are here.  To watch the fight and hopefully face either one of them in the near future," Estrada told BoxingScene.com.
