It was reported on All Headline News, that Oscar De La Hoya has added undefeated WBA lightweight champion Juan Diaz (30-0, 15KOs) to his Golden Boy Promotions banner.

"We don't have a signed contract but we have agreed in principle to a deal with Golden Boy," Diaz manager Willie Savannah said. "I haven't seen a contract but we agreed on everything. I think everything will be OK. Everything is being put to paper and then our lawyer [Fred Levin] will go through it."

Diaz's contract with Main Events expired in August, and as many as ten promoters tried to sign the young talent. It was said that Diaz's deal with Golden Boy if for three fights and comes with a six-figure signing bonus. There is also an option for GBP to extend the deal. Diaz's first fight under the Golden Boy banner may come on November 25, as part of a televised "Boxing After Dark" event on HBO.
