On October 10 at the Yoyogi #2 Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan, unbeaten Juan Carlos Salgado (20-0-1, 14KOs) will challenge Jorge Linares (27-0, 18KOs) for the WBC super featherweight title. Linares has a lot riding on the fight, including a new promotional contract that was recently signed with Golden Boy Promotions. They have some big plans for Linares but first he must get past upset-mined Salgado.

"I feel strong and motivated. Linares has fast hands, and has a lot of movement. His right hand is dangerous and you must block it. It's hard to win a world title, which is why I trained very hard for the upset. I know I can beat Jorge, he's not invincible. I am aware that I'm fighting him at his home, which lies in Japan and the public will on his side. From the start I'll going to press the action," Salgado told ESTO.

Salgado finished up his camp. He said training camp was great and he plans to go for the knockout against Linares.

"I ran in the mountains. I sparred at the gym for about 200 rounds. I throw all of my punches with intelligence. I'll go for the knockout," Salgado said.
