Juan Carlos Salgado has returned to the gym, training very hard after being advised by his promoter, Hector Garcia of HG Boxing, that a ring return was being planned for late May, and the interim super featherweight championship of the World Boxing Association would like be at stake in the fight.

"My promoter Hector Garcia told me I will fight to the end of May for the world title vacated by Jorge 'Coloradito' Solis. This is great news; this type of news motivates any fighter and I want to return to reign in the super featherweight division," Salgado said.

With 23 wins, 16 knockouts and one defeat, the former WBA super featherweight champion hopes to have another night of glory as he secured on October 10, 2009 in Tokyo, Japan, by knocking out Venezuelan Jorge Linares in the first round to seize the said championship.

"I have the potential to be champion again, I am very motivated and excited about the title fight. I became a champion once and I want to be one once again. There will be no over-confidence; just desire to be a great fighter and what better way to show it than in a fight like that," Salgado said.

The Mexican contemplates the possibility of holding his full comapny in Guadalajara.

"We are exploring that option, to go to train there with a trainer who knows our promoter, and the other possibility is that he comes to work here with me at where I'm at. By this week the situation will be determined," Salgado said.
