According to the chatter in Mexico, WBA super featherweight champion Juan Carlos Salgado (21-0-1, 15KOs) plans to make the first defense of his title in December or January. Salgado was recently honored in Mexico for his recent destruction of previously undefeated Jorge Linares. He put Linares away in 73-seconds of the first round. No opponent has been mentioned. Linares wants a rematch but few doubt the rematch will be immediate.
