Former champion Juan Carlos Gomez returns after five years to Universum and is back boxing at the O2-World. Universum Box-Promotion is pleased about the homecoming of ex-world champion Juan Carlos Gomez (47-2-0, 36KOs), who returns on July 31.
The "Black Panther" is back home after almost five years after his last fight under the Universum banner, now staging his 51st Professional fight on the big Night of The Champions card at the O2 World as part of a relief effort for children.
Universum-Promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl: "We are delighted to have Juan back. He was with us and over the years has always remained connected. I believe in him, he can
emphasis once again. He has only two defeats. He is indeed 36 years old, but look at the 39-year-old Vitali Klitschko and you can see how long you can still put out a high performance. Juan Carlos Gomez: "I had some problems with my old promoter, so I called my original promoter, who made me a champion. I know only now to appreciate how Peter Kohl was always fair to me. Juan Carlos Gomez captured his first title in February 1998 with the trainer Fritz Sdunek, the WBC cruiserweight belt which he defended nine times. 2006 was his first fight under the Arena Box brand. Upon his return to the Universum Gym, Gomez was received warmly. His new coach is ex-champion Artur Grigorian.
