IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua says he is more than ready to face WBC champion Tyson Fury in a high stakes unification showdown.
Joshua is waiting for a concrete date for a planned mandatory clash with Kubrat Pulev. It was scheduled for June 20th in London, but has since been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fury is heading in the direction of a contracted trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder.
Should the two of them win, a battle between them is certainly the largest showdown in the sport.
Joshua is urging Fury to come to the table. He strongly believes Fury is unable to call himself the top boxer in the sport - until the two of them step inside the ring and trade punches.
"Yes, come fight me. If you really want to say you're No 1, come fight me. Let's get it on. I've got the rest of the belts so it only makes sense," Joshua told Sky Sports.
"I'm the unified heavyweight champion of the world, he's the WBC champion. What it will prove, me and him fighting? There will be one dominant figure in the heavyweight division that will have all of the belts and become undisputed.
"Logically to prove yourself as No 1, I have to fight Tyson Fury. He has to fight Anthony Joshua."
But the two champions are tied down by upcoming fights, and there is no telling when each event will take place due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
"It would be amazing to tell Pulev 'I think it's best if you step aside for now' and to tell Wilder 'we have bigger fish to fry'. 'Enjoy your Alabama chicken while we get cracking in the UK!' That fight needs to happen because there will never be another time like this again," Joshua said.
