Professional boxing returns to Orange County tonight with a mix of unbeaten fighters from the United States and abroad.
Unbeaten Joshua Conley will fight Cesar Vila in an eight round middleweight bout inside The Hangar on the grounds of the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, Calif.
The bout will headline a nine-bout 'Fight Club OC' card, presented by Roy Englebrecht Promotions.
Conley (10-0-1, 6 KOs) has won his last three bouts in a row since a six round split decision draw to Juan Carlos Rojas in October of 2013. In his last bout on December 4, Conley won a one-sided six round decision over Paul Mpendo.
The 23 year old Conley, who resides in San Bernardino, is trained by Henry Ramirez, who also trains Chris Arreola and Josesito Lopez.
In his last bout on February 6, Vila (8-2, 4 KOs) stopped Justin DeLoach in the third round, giving DeLoach his first loss as a pro. Prior to that bout, Vila, who hails from Brooklyn, was knocked out by Terrell Gausha in the eighth round on December 11.
Middleweight Arif Magomedov will fight veteran Derrick Findley in an eight round bout.
Magomedov (13-0, 8 KOs) will be making his United States debut tonight as he has fought all of his bouts in his native Russia. Magomedov stopped Alex Theran in the third round on April 25 and won a 10 round decision over Michael Zerafa on October 24. Both Theran and Zerafa were unbeaten before they fought Magoemdov.
Findley (21-14-1, 13 KOs) should be a good measuring stick as he has faced numerous prospects and contenders. He was stopped in the first round of his last bout on December 11 by Edwin Rodriguez. Findley has also faced the likes of Maxim Vlasov, J'Leon Love, Jesse Hart, and Gilberto Ramirez.
In a bout featuring unbeaten junior welterweights from Southern California, Kevin Watts (6-0, 2 KOs) will fight Maximilliano Becerra (6-0-2, 3 KOs).
In other bouts:
- Leduan Barthelemy (4-0, 2 KOs) will fight Juan Jose Sandoval (7-15-1, 4 KOs) in a six round featherweight bout.
- Junior middleweight Mark Anthony Hernandez (4-0, 1 KO) will fight Anthony Abbruzzese (3-1, 2 KOs) in a six round bout.
- Malcolm McAllister (2-0, 2 KOs) will fight Keyone Menes (0-1) in a four round super middleweight bout.
- Super middleweight Reece Bennett will make his professional debut against Fernando Najera (1-6) in a four round bout.
- Two mixed martial arts bouts will round out the card.
