Frank Warren has continued to add to his stable since signing a broadcast deal with BT Sport.
The Hall of Fame promoter, 54, recently confirmed the signing of British super-lightweight champion Tyrone Nurse.
And now, after also revealing the news of the capture of British super-bantamweight title mandatory challenger Thomas Patrick Ward, Josh Warrington has moved to Queensberry Promotions.
Warrington, the WBC International champion at featherweight, recently severed all ties with Matchroom Boxing after his contract expired, leaving him free to join Eddie Hearn’s promotional rival Warren and switch broadcast platforms from Sky Sports to BoxNation.
Though a date for the 26-year-old’s Queensberry debut has yet to be disclosed, his manager Steve Wood told Boxing Scene that the aforementioned Warren is looking at getting his new charge back into action in the first quarter of 2017, with a full details to be confirmed.
An official announcement on the signing of Warrington, who has a ring record of 24-0 (5 KOs), by the press office at Frank Warren is expected in due course.
Boxing Scene understands that Warren has made further signings and will make announcements as and when.
