Welterweight contender Josesito Lopez picked up his third win in a row when he defeated Rafael Cobos via unanimous decision Thursday night at the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas.
Lopez said that he felt he could have done better but that his opponent came to fight and wouldn't back down.
"I did okay. I would have liked to have done better and got the knockout. He was a tough Mexican who came to fight. I was happy to get the rounds in," said Lopez.
The Riverside, Calif. native said that he hopes he is done with the tune ups and would like a big fight before the end of the year. With rumors swirling that he could face Amir Khan next, Lopez sad that he will be more than ready if the fight comes to fruition.
"I think I am ready for the big dogs. We will see who is next. We're not saying it's Khan but if it turns out to be him we will be ready for him. He's a good fighter. He's tall and he's fast and he clinches a lot. If he's next then we will be ready to go," Lopez told BoxingScene.com.
