Jennings has won four in a row since suffering back to back defeats in 2015 to Wladimir Klitschko and Luis Ortiz.

This is not the first time that Arum explored the idea of this contest.

Prior to Parker reaching an agreement for his clash with Joshua, Arum was pushing for Parker to make his first world title defense against Jennings. There was interest from Team Parker - but Joshua was their priority at the time.

While Top Rank is hoping the contest takes place, Higgins told Stuff there was "still nothing firm enough to discuss."

Top Rank vice-president Carl Moretti told ESPN - "It's a fight we're working on and it's a fight we'd like to do but there are a lot of moving parts, Sometimes they get made and sometimes they don't."

Parker is also looking at several other potential options, like a fight in New Zealand against heavyweight giant Alexander Ustinov of Russia.

As BoxingScene.com reported a few weeks ago, Ustinov was eyed as a headline opponent due to his marketability in the country.

Back in 2013, Ustinov won a twelve round decision over local fan favorite David Tua, which sent the veteran straight into retirement.

A fight with Ustinov would have the 'revenge' back story to promote the fight.
