New WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker wants a big-money showdown at Wembley Stadium against David Haye.
Parker pipped Andy Ruiz to the vacant heavyweight crown a fortnight ago and has already set his sights on cashing-in on that title by taking on former world champion David Haye.
Haye had been mentioned as a possible contender to face the winner of the Parker-Ruiz showdown, before the 36-year-old agreed to a cruiserweight clash against fellow Brit Tony Bellew.
But he is still in the sights of Parker’s camp after the Kiwi has faced an initial title defence in April, with Hughie Fury, Jarrell Miller and David Price among the names in the frame for that bout.
"We think Joseph will beat Haye, and we think Haye thinks the same," said Parker’s promoter David Higgins.
"He did a runner, we think he was worried that Joseph would beat him. So he's gone and taken another fight.
“Now they have elevated him to number one, suggesting he should be the second defence (for Parker).
"It would be such a big global fight you could hold it at Wembley in the English summer.
“A fight against Haye would be a worldwide event with turnover of 10s of millions, a mega event. But Haye did a runner this time and me might do a runner again."
