This Saturday night from the Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino, featherweight prospect Joseph Diaz (20-0, 11 KO's) takes on Victor Proa (28-2-1, 21 KO's) on HBO Latino. With a victory, Diaz could propel himself to a spot on the Saul Alvarez-Liam Smith pay-per-view undercard on September 17th from the AT&T Stadium near Dallas, Texas.

"It's a good possibility depending on the opponent,"said Robert Diaz (no relation), the head matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions, who would like to see the number two ranked Diaz face the WBC's top rated contender.

The number two contender is Josh Warrington, who is promoted by Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport. Warrington (23-0, 4KOs) returns to the ring on Saturday in Leeds against Patrick Hyland at the First Direct Arena. The WBC's International featherweight title will be at stake.

"I have my eyes on Josh Warrington, who's number one in the world in the featherweight division. Josh is number two so it would be a fight that whether it's in September in Dallas or wherever, but obviously first things first on the 30th (of July) if everything comes out for him him and for Josh who fights on the 30th, as well in the U.K. That's a fight we could probably be seeing for the next fight," Diaz told BoxingScene.com.

The WBC 126-pound belt is currently held by Gary Russell Jr.

When asked if a potential Diaz-Warrington match-up would be an official eliminator, Diaz stated - "I hope so because we have number one versus number two."
