Robert Garcia is one of the most well-known trainers in the sport and recently has begun to manage boxers. He has advised BoxingScene.com that his latest protege' Joseph Adorno has inked a promotional deal with Top Rank.

"He's a 13-time national champion, he's going to be 18 next year, he just signed with Top Rank a couple of weeks ago. He was born in New Jersey but as soon as he was born they moved him to Puerto Rico and four years ago his parents moved back to the United States and are living in Allentown, Pennsylvania."

Garcia will co-manage and co-train Adorno like he does with Hector Tanajara Jr, Joshua Franco, Genaro Gamez and Jonathan Navarro.

According to Garcia, Adorno (who had an amateur mark of 178-22 with 65 stoppages) has a, ''beautiful left hook,'' and reminds me him of a young Miguel Cotto. Top Rank matchmakers, Bruce Trampler and Brad Goodman, dropped by his gym in Riverside a few weeks ago and were impressed by what they saw.

There is a chance that Adorno could be making his pro debut on November 26th on the Vasyl Lomachenko-Nicholas Walters undercard at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. But given that he is still just 17, they will need a waiver from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
