Joselito Velazquez, one of the brightest Mexican prospects in boxing today, will make his United States debut on December 9 in Las Vegas on the undercard of the big HBO card headlined by Orlando Salido that will take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas in a card promoted by Zanfer Promotion.

Tickets for Saturday, December 9 are priced at $250, $200, $150, $100 and $50 and are now available at AXS.com and at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Box Office.

Velazquez, a 2016 Mexican Olympian, was a much decorated amateur boxer when he was a two-time Pan-American Games gold medalist and also represented Mexico in the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

Velazquez has a very fan-friendly style to go along with his boxing skills that are sure to taking to the highest level in professional boxing where he already has won his first four professional bouts as he begins his journey to realizing his dream.

“I have always dreamed about becoming a professional boxer and wining a world championship. I will work very hard to reach my goals and become well known in the sport and to reach the ultimate heights in this new chapter in my life,” said Velazquez.

During his amateur career, Velazquez had over 180 bouts, winning 160 and was the Mexican National Champion in 2007, 2008 and 2011. He won his first Gold Medal in the Pan American games in 2011 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He would then go on to get a Bronze medal in the “Copa Independencia” in the Dominican Republic and gold in “La Copa Olimpica” in 2013 in Puerto Rico and won his second gold medal in the Pan American Games of 2015 in Toronto, Canada as he continued his stellar amateur career.

Velazquez qualified to the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil where he won his first bout and lost his second to the eventual gold medalist Hasanboy Dusmatov.

Velazquez was born in the state of Oaxaca, but grew up in the resort town of Cancun, Quitana Roo where he followed his brother Anibal, an aspiring boxer into the ring. He wanted to be a professional soccer player but seeing his brother’s passion for boxing, he decided that’s where his future was.

His amateur background will surely help him become a stellar professional boxer. Velazquez professional career is guided by renowned manager Frank Espinoza of Espinoza boxing and he is trained by one of the best trainers Manny Robles in Bellflower, California.

Velazquez (4-0, 1 KOs) made his professional debut on December 17, 2016 in his hometown of Cancun, with a knockout victory over Eduardo Casimiro and in his most recent outing on August 30 of this year he beat Erik Zamora in Cancun.

The promising flyweight will be in action in a four round bout.
