Unbeaten junior welterweight Jose Zepeda will fight on January 17 at the Oceanview Pavilion in Port Hueneme, California, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman recently told Boxingscene.com.
Zepeda will headline a Top Rank/ Bash Boxing card that will be broadcast on UniMas.
No opponent has been announced yet to face Zepeda (21-0, 18 KOs).
Zepeda is coming off a first round knockout victory over former world title challenger Victor Cayo on November 8 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
The 25-year-old Zepeda has fought before at the Oceanview Pavilion in Port Hueneme, located right next to Oxnard. He defeated Robert Frankel by unanimous decision on April 26.
Zepeda made headlines in late July when he was on standby to replace Diego Chaves for his August 2 bout against Brandon Rios. Chaves allegedly had visa problems entering the United States, but Chaves was able to secure a temporary visa to enter the country from Argentina.
Zepeda would fight one week later in Glendale, California, knocking out Adrian Rodriguez Garza in the third round.
Unbeaten welterweight Alex Saucedo could also appear on the card.
