Hard puncher José “Sugar” Salgado will fight in front of his hometown fans after one year of absence in on September 24 in Cozumel, Quintana Roo. Canelo Promotions and Cancun Boxing are staging the event. Salgado is the current WBC and WBA North American champion in the super flyweight division, and is working very hard to step into the ring against Isaac “Pretty Boy” Quaye, who is training in a very popular gym in Accra, Ghana in Africa - were great champions were made such as Azumah Nelson and Ike Quartey.
Salgado is only 22 years old and has a profesional record of 26 wins, with 23 of those victories by way of knockout and only one defeat, but he's in for a tough fight in his hometown.
“El Sugar” is seeking to give Quaye his first knockout defeat, the African has a current record of 16 wins (9 KOs), 4 defeats by decision, and one draw.
This fight is part of a great event featuring highly rank fighters such as Jesús “Destroyer” Jiménez who is facing Carlos Tamara, and Tomoki Kameda will trade punches with Eduardo García.
