Lightweight Jose Roman will fight Martin Cardona on April 24, Thompson Boxing Promotions matchmaker Alex Camponovo confirmed to BoxingScene.com on Wednesday morning.
Roman-Cardona is scheduled for eight rounds and will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA. The bout will headline a ‘Locked ‘N loaded’ card.
Roman (19-1, 13 KOs), who hails from nearby Garden Grove, has won his last five bouts in a row. He knocked out Jose Luis Ramirez Jr. in the third round of his last bout on November 21.
Cardona (19-4, 14 KOs) has won his last two bouts after losing four consecutive bouts. One of those losses was a brutal second round technical knockout at the hands of Gamaliel Rodriguez. Cardona resides in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
In an eight round bout, junior featherweight Daniel Roman will fight veteran Giovanni Caro.
Roman (13-2-1, 5 KOs) has won his last five bouts in a row since an eight round decision loss to Juan Reyes in October of 2013.
Caro (24-15-4, 19 KOs) lost a close eight round unanimous decision to Christopher Martin in his last bout on August 16. He has lost his last four bouts in a row.
In a six round bout, heavyweight prospect LaRon Mitchell (6-0, 6 KOs) will fight Sylvester Barron (8-4, 3 KOs).
