Jose Ramirez To Train With Freddie Roach

By Edward Chaykovsky

According to the Fresno Bee, one of Top Rank's highly regarded prospects, 2012 Olympian Jose Ramirez (10-0, 8KOs) will be training with Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym for his upcoming fight on August 2nd at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Ramirez will have his first eight round bout on against Alfred Romero (7-3, 6 KOs) of Denver on the undercard of the Brandon Rios/Diego Chaves card.

Armando Mancinas, Ramirez's long-time trainer, has no issue with his fighter deciding to train with Roach.

"I always told Jose not one coach knows everything," Mancinas said to the paper. "I don't claim to know everything. I told him you need to pay attention to coaches and learn from them. You go and pick up pieces here and there, and that's how he's becoming a good student. Having a name coach on his team helps with bigger networks."
