Junior welterweight Jose Miguel Cotto (29-1-1, 20KOs), the brother of the former two division champion, returns to action on December 19 on the next Boxeo Boricua event in Caguas, Puerto Rico. The card will be promoted by Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment.
After two-year layoff, Cotto returned in August and picked up a four round TKO win and then came back to the ring in September and picked up another TKO win, in three rounds. Cotto has polished up his boxing skills and says that he has a clear outline of his own strengths and weaknesses.
"The hardest thing [about my return] has been making weight," said Cotto, who now fights at around 140-141 pounds, but used to fight at 135. "My conditioning has been improving gradually. Little by little I'm bringing myself back and hopefully by April of next year I can put myself in position where I can go for a championship."
