Former lightweight champ Jose Luis Castillo, who fought both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Ricky Hatton, gave his opinion on their Dec. 8 superfight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Castillo fought Mayweather twice in 2002, coming close to beating him in their first meeting and losing a clear unanimous decision in the rematch. The bout with Hatton, which took place in June, saw Castillo get stopped in the fourth round after being hit with a crippling shot to the body.

Some experts have called it a mismatch. Some experts have said the fight will be one-sided in favor of Mayweather. Castillo tells Daily Express the fight will be a close one, and picking a winner is tough. He says Hatton has a very good chance to win.

“It is so difficult to call the fight. Mayweather is very quick and sharp but Hatton throws a lot of heavy punches and he’s faster than people give him credit for," Castillo said. “Some people have said it is a mis-match and that Mayweather will win every round but that’s not true. That will not happen. Hatton is a very proud, strong fighter and he can win. I have no doubt about that.”
