Former champion Jose Luis Castillo (60-9-1, 52 KOs) will face welterweight Saul Corral (16-6, 8 KOs) at Arena Itson in Sonora, Mexico on December 19. The fight takes place on the Humberto Soto-Jesus Chavez undercard, which Top Rank plans to televise with the Kelly Pavlik-Miguel Espino bout on Top Rank pay-per-view.
Corral is on a four fight win streak and fought as high as junior middleweight two fights ago. It's interesting that Corral just fought an won a decision against Ivan Gonzalez on November 11. Castillo wants to make a final run at a major title at 140-pounds.
"God willing I will fight against a world ranked fighter in the coming year and then fight for a major title," Castillo told The Record .
