Lightweight contender Jose Felix will face Robert Frankel on August 27, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman told BoxingScene.com.
The 10 round bout will take place at the Churchill County Fairgrounds in Fallon, Nev. The bout will be precede the 10 round bout elimination bout between Miguel Marriaga and Guy Robb.
Both bouts will air on UniMas, beginning at 11 p.m. ET/ PT.
According to Goodman, the bout on August 27 will be a stay-busy fight for Felix, who could be in the running to face Felix Verdejo this fall.
Felix (33-1-1, 25 KOs) was targeted as an opponent for Verdejo when the popular fighter from Puerto Rico fought on June 11 in New York City. Verdejo ended up facing Juan Jose Martinez.
Felix, who resides in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, won a 10 round split decision over Ricky Sismundo in his last bout on January 30.
The 24-year-old Felix, who has won his last six bouts in a row, is ranked in the top five in two of boxing's sanctioning bodies.
Frankel (34-16-1, 7 KOs) has not fought since August 29, when he stopped overmatched David Laque in round three.
Frankel has lost recently to unbeaten Jose Ramirez, Jose Zepeda, and Anton Novikov.
