Lightweight contender Jose Felix Jr. (33-1-1) of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico has advised BoxingScene.com that he will return to the ring on August 27th in Fallon, Nevada on the Guy Robb-Miguel Marriaga WBO featherweight eliminator undercard. Felix last fought in February when he won a split decision against Ricky Sismundo in Southern California. His next opponent will be announced in the near future.
Felix, who has won six fights in a row since coming up short against WBA super featherweight Bryan Vasquez, hopes that a win in August will secure him a fight against blue chip Puerto Rican prospect Felix Verdejo.
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum recently told BoxingScene.com that he would like to put that fight on October 15th on Manny Pacquiao's pay-per-view undercard should the former eight-division champion and newly elected Filipino senator decide to continue his career. Adrien Broner has been mentioned as a possible opponent for Pacquiao.
