Norwegian jr welterweight Geir Inge Jorgensen´s planned fight for this past weekend in Miami didn´t come off and Jorgensen, who is managed by Emanuel Steward, is now returning home and hopes to get a tuneup fight in Europe before returning to Detroit and a bout there on September 23. Jorgensen last fought eleven months ago.
German promoter Ralf Reiser will stage a show in Antalya, Turkey, on August 26. Headlining is WBB light heavyweight champ Ali Yilderim. Heavyweight Ozcan Cetinkaya and cruiserweight Serdar Sahin are also on the bill. All fighters and their handlers are coming in from Germany.
Hungarian jr middleweight Attila Kovacs is off Felix-Promotion´s September 9 show with WBO I/C featherweight champ Andres Meszaros taking his place.
Jr middleweight prospect Nikita Dubunin have been added to Sauerland Event´s big show on August 26 in Oldenburg.
"If Daddy Don´t sing Danny Boy" on the Hacienda Brothers´ latest album What´s Wrong With Right, appears to be about Barry McGuigan´s fight against Stevie Cruz back in 86. It´s written by former Golden Gloves champ Chris Gaffney. The CD is produced by Dan Penn.
