Sycuan Ringside Promotions’ undefeated teenage sensation Jorge Paez Jr. appears in his second six-round bout when he faces veteran Joel Padilla in a lightweight fight Dec. 15 in Mexicali, Mexico.

The 19-year-old Paez, who has a record of 11-0 with seven knockouts, is coming off four decision wins, three of which were on HBO pay-per-view cards.  On Sept. 16 in Las Vegas he beat Derrick Campos; on Aug. 19 in El Paso, Texas, he defeated Armand Horn in his six-round debut; on May 6 in Las Vegas he decisioned Lowell Brownfield; and on June 10 in Atlantic City, N.J., he bested Travis Hartman. 

“I’m developing; I just turned 19,” said Paez Jr., the son of former International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organization featherweight champion Jorge Paez.  “But I know, ultimately, I will be a world champion.  I’m confident of that.  I hope I can be as great a champion as my father was.”

Paez Jr., who had an amateur record of 77-3, including a win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in an exhibition contest, is managed by Andy Ruiz.

The 35-year-old Padilla, from Cuidad Juarez, Mexico, lists a record of 8-7 with four knockouts.
