At the Atlapa Convention Center in Panama City, Panama - Jorge Linares (26-0, 17KOs) captured the vacant WBA super featherweight when he stopped Whyber Garcia (20-6, 14KOs) in the fifth round after a barrage of landed punches.
Linares captures the title that was vacted by his stablemate Edwin Valero, who made a move to lightweight. Linares himself vacated the WBC featherweight title to challenge for the WBA strap after stuggles to make the featherweight limit. In a twist, Valero actually stopped Gracia in the first round back in 2006.
