Former two division champion Jorge "Golden Boy" Linares of Venezuela has hit Mexico to finihs up training for Saturday's commitment in Mazatlan. Linares, the current owner of the Fedelatin lightweight title of the WBA, will face once-beaten Francisco "Volcano" Codero of Colombia. Linares currently has a record of 30-1, 19 KOs, and staged his training in Tokyo, with his trainer Sendai Tanaka. Cordero, meanwhile accumulated a record of 24-1, 16 KOs.

Linares joins the fight for Victoria Helena Cabrera. During his camp, Linares remained in Japan to provide support to everyone who were somehow victims of this year's earthquake and tsunami, and also offered special assistance in Venezuela. He joined the struggle to support a young child, Victoria Cabrera Helena Mata, who suffers from congenital heart problem. 

The 12-year-old has been operated on twice, and most recently merited placement of a prosthetic valve.

"I joined the fight to help raise funds for the health of Victoria Helena, a girl who deserves everyone's help, and that is why I will donate the shorts and boots that I wore in my fight with Jesus" Matador "Chavez from last year in Japan, so they can be auctioned off. The idea is to raise funds and help," said Linares, who invited every Venezuelan to give their support.
