It's been announced in Venezuela that Jorge 'Golden Boy' Linares will make a defense of his WBC lightweight crown against Mexican challenger Ivan 'Macanón' Cano on October 10 in Caracas Polyhedron.

Linares fights in his native Venezuela for the first time in more than five years. After 13 professional fights and winning another championship, he make his return.

He returns after he grueling fight on May 30, when he got off the floor - and down on the scorecards - to batter and stop Kevin Mitchell.

Linares (39-3, 26 KOs) received confirmation of the fight from Jupiter Fight Boxing, who are handling the card. Ivan has a record a 23-6 record -2 and 15 knockouts.
