In yet another shocker at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York, 2004 Olympic gold medal winner and highly regarded bantamweight prospect Yan Barthelemy (8-2, 1KOs) was stopped in the sixth and final round of his fight with unbeaten Jorge Diaz (10-0, 5KOs).
It was a good scrap while it lasted. Barthelemy appeared to be on his way to a decision when Diaz caught him with a left hook and it knocked Barthelemy out cold at the start of the sixth round. Barthelemy was down for a while but left the ring on his own.
Editor's Note: Diaz led on the official cards at the time of the stop by split decision, 48-47, 48-47 and 47-48.
