Popular Mexican fighter Jorge "Travieso" Arce (64-8-2, 49KOs) retired this year after taking a bruising knockout loss at the hands of WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez in October.
Arce retired in 2012 after a knockout defeat to Nonito Donaire. He came back shortly afterwards to purse another world title. He failed in his quest to capture another divisional title, but says he's very be happy after all the achievements he's been able to accomplish in a career that spanned over 18 years.
"2014 was a good year in my very successful career. I just wanted to win my sixth title in different division, make history. I went against a great champion like Johnny. I'm proud of the courage that I showed, I never gave up. Now I'm happy to enjoy my children, my family," Arce said.
"I remember many of my fights, like the historical contest against Yo Sam Choi in Seoul, where I won against all odds, the fight against Hussein Hussein, and then the fight against Wilfredo 'Papito' Vázquez, where I took all that he gave me and came back to knock him out."
