WBO super flyweight champion Jorge Arce is not looking past his April 24 opponent, Cecilio "Boga" Santos. Arce takes a tuneup at the Centro de Usos Multiples in Ciudad Obregón, SON, Mexico. Arce (53-6-1, 40 KOs) already has a big fight lined up for June 26. He will move up in weight to challenge WBO interim-bantamweight champion Eric Morel on the undercard to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr-John Duddy at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. To get there has has to beat Santos (24-13-3, 14 KOs), a heavy underdog in the fight.
Arce is started to reach the end of his training camp and plans to take a minor rest before going back to camp to begin training for Morel.
"The only thing on my mind is to beat Santos, who is a is a brave and strong fighter. I do not trust anything [as being easy]. I'm risking a lot, but the most important thing is to show the public a great fight and to also be victorious because I expected to move up in weight to challenge for a title in a fourth weight division," Arce said.
